About Us

Christ Church Brittany was founded over 20 years ago when the Rev Roger Fray and his wife, Beri, held a service in their home for a number of English speakers who lived in the Ploermel area.  This took place in December 1999 and it was not long before there was a need to look for another venue as they had quickly outgrown their home. The Brothers at Maison Mere, a teaching order of Catholic priests, stepped in and offered the use of a room in the centre of Ploermel, an offer that was gratefully accepted. Soon the congregation had outgrown that room too.  The Brothers stepped in once more and offered the use of an old chapel located very close to the centre and it has been the home of the mother church of Christ Church Brittany ever since.

We seek to welcome all those who would like to join us to worship in English. There are a variety of services ranging from Communion services following the Church of England Common Worship service book, to informal services of word and worship and the occasional cafe church.

With the ending of the pandemic we have been able to start organising our social events again.  These are usually a lunch sometimes with a theme. Look out for details on the website.

Please look at the sites for each worship centre to find more detailed and up to date information.
