Acting Chaplain Rev Jeremy Cross

Ever since Christ Church Brittany was founded over 20 years ago, the church has sought to serve the English speaking community here in Brittany. We are also very happy to welcome our French friends and neighbours to worship with us and to join in our various activities.

Our mission statement is 'To know Jesus Christ and to make him known'. To this end, in 'normal' times all four worship centres have regular services, both Holy Communion and Word and Worship. At the moment, services from Ploermel are live streamed on Facebook, allowing people to join us from anywhere in the world! Our Facebook page is Christ Church Brittany and the services stay throughout the following week.

So if you haven't come across us before, do look at the details of the worship centre nearest you and join us.  You will be very welcome!                                                 Jeremy

Hope to see you soon!

Jeremy

ANNOUNCEMENT

"The Bishop in Europe is pleased to announce that he has offered the joint post of Chaplain to Christ Church, Brittany and Area Dean in North West France, to the Revd David McLeod, currently Vicar of St Mary’s Greenham and Area Dean of the Newbury Deanery, in the Diocese of Oxford. David has accepted this, though of course the offer is subject to completion of the usual formalities. David, his wife Sue and daughter Lucy are expecting to move to Brittany once he has fulfilled his notice period to his current roles and the necessary formalities have been finalised.”

Archdeacon Peter adds “this is really excellent news and almost brings to an end the process to find a new Chaplain for Christ Church Brittany. It is also very exciting in that we are able to add into the Archdeaconry the new post of an Area Dean for the North-West of the Country. David will be the first post-holder and this epitomises the agenda and realisation of growth that the Diocese in Europe is currently experiencing. I would particularly like to give thanks to those who have been part of the discernment process that has brought David and his family to us. Thanks also to all who have worked so hard in keeping the mission and ministry activities of the Chaplaincy on-going. I would also ask that you hold David, Sue and Lucy in your prayers as they bring to an end their ministry in the Diocese of Oxford and prepare to come to join us in France.”

Chris and Janet, our churchwardens would also like to add that they feel this whole process has had God’s hand on it. We have all been frustrated at times but never given up praying that the right person would apply – and we have a strong belief that this is exactly what has happened. Thank you to all 4 congregations for their patience, support and your prayers.

David’s licensing service will be in Ploërmel on Sunday 23rd June when Archdeacon Peter will be joining with us all to celebrate this exciting new beginning.
